Sanjay Dholakia ’87 P ’21 and Melissa Barnes Dholokia ’87 P ’21 are a Webb love story – they were married 11 years after they graduated from Webb. With the roots of their household founded in our history, it is fitting that the family, which includes Sanjay’s brother, Sameer Dholokia ’91, decided, in 2001, to create the Pravina Dholakia Scholarship Fund, an endowed financial aid fund to provide scholarship support for a deserving Vivian Webb School student. The fund was named in memory of Sanjay and Sameer’s mother.

“My mother used to tell us, ‘You can’t take anything with you when you leave this earth. The measure of your life is in the number of people you help,’ ” Sanjay Dholakia said.

Over the years, the trio has committed over $150,000 to the fund. The couple has also documented an estate gift that will continue to provide future revenue to this endowed fund.

“When my mom passed away during my sophomore year at Webb, I was devastated. The extraordinary support and love of the Webb community enabled me to get through a very tough time,” Sameer Dholakia said. “Giving back to Webb, in her honor, is deeply important and gratifying to our whole family.”

Open Webb to the World

We must dramatically increase financial aid endowment to ensure Webb can enroll and support every student with the drive to succeed and passion to contribute to our schools.
