The relationship between Webb and the Rogers family runs long and deep. The connection runs through the direct experiences of Col. John S. Rogers, USAF (Ret.) ’59 and his grandson Tylor Bell-Rogers ’16, the steadfast devotion of Col. Rogers’ wife, June, and their daughter, Janet, and through the legacy of Col. Rogers’ mother, Mary Stuart Rogers and the foundation she established to help those in need. In an interview with the Modesto Bee, Col. Rogers states: “Helping people who help themselves, that’s what we do.”

“If you believe in what your school has done for you, help it whenever you can. Students will benefit from what you give back. You, as a student, benefited from alumni who came before you.” – Col. John S. Rogers, USAF (Ret.) ’59

More than 250 Webb students have been honored as Rogers Scholars, receiving financial aid and/or recognition through the Alf Museum as Rogers Peccary Scholars. That same devotion has led the family to support projects such as the Mary Stuart Rogers Sports Center and Faculty Field and the recent land acquisition of nearly 80 acres adjacent to campus. Even further, Col. Rogers and his family have documented a future gift in the form of a charitable lead trust. This giving technique provides funds for future use over a term of years. When it is complete, this latest gift will total $3 million. All of these gifts combined with previous gifts put Col. Rogers and his family among the greatest donors in Webb’s history.

Open Webb to the World

We must dramatically increase financial aid endowment to ensure Webb can enroll and support every student with the drive to succeed and passion to contribute to our schools.
